hello, car keeps going into limp mode and gettin on my **** now, read the codes and the EGR keeps coming up, any know the way to blank it off? thought i done i when i mapped the chips but i must have not.

hello DM, tried it today and for some reason im having not luck, car runs lumpy on idle till the limp mode cuts in and the fault code is logged for the egr,
I have tried it with every thing still pluggged in every thing unplugged and blocked off and any way in between. Dont know what i have done wrong.
Got the diode and 470 ohm together, found the pin5 from maf yellow/white and the green/grey from the transducer, exposed the copper wire in both, with the diode line facing the the green/grey wire.

Really confused atm.

thanks ian

just look the unit off the yellow/white wire and gave it a 12v feed so see if that would work and nothing still the same. With it all off it is just in limp mode all the time.
Unless maplins have given me the wrong parts??????

another update, justr checked and the restistor (470) reads 466 been told thats aboput right. So proper confused now

Is the MAF reading correct anyway, before you do the mod?

Disconnect the EGR connector then check the MAF voltage is dragged down 0.4v when the EGR valve should be operational. You could achieve that by just shorting the wire to Gnd.

gnd out the pin 5 from maf? or the green/grey wire? will try tomoro and get back to u

hello, tried this on idle, pin5 reading 1.1-1.2v earth'd the green wire and the voltage dropped a little but not alot down to 1v.

Ground the Green/grey wire and it should drag the MAF output down about 0.4v.

done that and resault is just above your last answer dm

1v is too low for the idle reading, it should be ~2v

Ok dm. Maf reading wrong then. Thanks fella

It should be about ~2v at idle rising to ~4.8v at full revs and boost.

Ok dm. I'll stop using old maf. And buy a new Bosch one.

Thanks fella
