Hi Fellow Members

Firstly excuse me if I haven't made my introductions in the introduction area, I can't seem to find it!!!

I have a problem and was hoping that someone could help me, as I have been searching google for the last half an hour, and various forums, and can't seem to find the answer.

I was changing the delivery valve seals on my 1998 E300TD, and whilst taking Number 2 injector pipe off the pump, I have stupidly snapped the rear (of the 2) plastic pipe and plastic attachment to the pump on the right of where the injectors/deliver valves attach, black pastic connection with white clip holding it on. I can't even start to tell you how stupid I feel and how annoyed I am with myself.

What do I do now? Is this a part I can order by itself, if so, does anyone know the part number? I don't even know what the part is called, which is probably part of my problem when it comes to searching the net/forums.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as at the moment, I am feeling extremely low, stupid, etc. etc.

Thanks in anticipation of any help at all.

All the best

Mark

Just thinking that you might get a better response if you can post a picture of the problem.

You can get this pipe for around £6 from any MB dealer. they will be able to tell you which one you need from a diagram on the EPC.

its worth replacing all those pipes if they are brittle enough to snap. they are supposed to be quite flexable, but get brittle with age.

replace them all whilst the manifold is removed.

As above. The dealer will probably have the pipes in stock as air leakage is the most common problem for these engines not running.

if phoning the dealer, just say its the "clear fuel pipes". they will know what you mean and will order you up the whole set. Worth replacing the other orings and fuel filters/pre filters at the same time too.

there are a couple of loose o-rings and alloy seals you may want to order aswell if replacing the banjo end-pipes too. dealer will sort u out.

i recently did all my clear fuel pipes and it came to just under £40 for a set.

Solved - Thanks to all

Guys

Thanks very much for your advices, I really appreciate it. Turned out I'd managed to snap the hard fuel line carrier from the stop solenoid to the bottom of the pre-filter, which as stated could be bought as a complete unit, thank goodness, and only cost me £7 from the local dealers. To be fair to them - Mercedes Benz Bridgend - were absolutely brilliant, they spent an age with me going through schematics until we were both sure we'd got the right bit.

I followed PoDs guide to changing the delivery valve seals here - http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/...d.php?t=211801 - and to be honest, it was brilliant. I wish I hadn't ignored his tip about taking the fuel lines off 6 to 1, this is where I went wrong and hence my faux pas. Only thing I'd say if I was doing it again, I would probably have taken the hard fuel lines off the stop solenoid as well to access sakes.

On the upside, it's been in the 70s today, and I'm well happy with the finished result.

Cheers again to all.
