Spotted a wine coloured e400 w210 in Glasgow the other day. It was left hand drive with blacked out windows and the square style rear number plate.

Looked rather unusual, was this a model sold in the UK? Wonder where it was from (it had uk plates on).

Not sold in the UK. Nor anywhere else...probably a special.

Probably a japanese import, they had a w124 e400 amg so no reason not to have a w210 version.

That number plate style is also seen in the US.

The Japanese like their foreign cars in LHD...it's a status symbol.

Got it. The E400 was for Japan only, and was in fact a E420...but for Japan known as the E400.
