I'm seriously looing for a W210 estate with 7 seats, post face lift up to March 2001. If you have one to sell, let me know.

Also, any advice about what to look out for when buying one of these would be much appreciated. I want something that I can keep for at least 70k miles and 5 + years without major expense.

All advice gratefully received.

Welcome Welland99 :)

You will have to trawl through the posts for a lot of the information, (all interesting stuff and educational too) but rust is an issue on the front wings and tailgate in my experience:(

The seven seater is very handy too. (unless your son has 5 skateboarding mates...)

Full MB service history is something to take seriously too.

Best of luck ;)

Stiff rear seat back release catches - could mean rear seats won't fold down as cables stretched.

...oh and rust

Unless you plan to spend very little, go for the latest one you can find

Ive had to change the seat release handles on my current w210 and the last one I had.

They are well built cars, but are prone to rust. The places to look are the wheel arches, rear tailgate-around the handle and the 3rd brake light and the one most people miss is the door tops. Open each door and pull the top rubber seal back, its a very common area.

I agree, buy a late example.

Im toying with the idea of selling mine, take a look:

Is yours labradorite green then? Great looking car

I think that we have a set of fold out seats in work for a 210 estate , there grey cloth , they could be instaled into an estate . Also we have 3 sets for 211 , 2 in black leather and one in beige leather
