W210 Folding Mirrors

Is there an 'automatic' setting for electric folding mirrors? I'm using a W211 courtesy car at the moment where they automatically operate in conjunction with door locks - a nice feature which you can select throug the 'in dash' computer.

I suspect my W210 is rather too old for such gizmos.....

I'm not familiar with your particular car but, if you have it?, you will see it as you say in the operating system computer under "convenience settings" or something similar. As you have found with your courtesy car, the switchable options are to operate on vehicle lock/unlock or operate manually.

Auto folding came only in the newer CAN controlled mirrors. 210 is hardwired just like the 202, 208.

My son has a 1995 Skyline with auto folding mirrors. Turn off the ignition and the mirrors fold. Is there no way the switch cannot be wired through the ignition to autofold? Seems much more sensible than holding the switch down.

If it's present on the W210 it will need STAR diagnostics to enable it, it can be done on W203.

as shude has already said, cannot be done on the 210, you could however wireit up to some sort of releys to make it do it on ignition, but sometines i find i dont want to fold my mirrors when the car turns off or locks!

It's just really bl**dy annoying when you fold them, turn the ignition off, then can't see if a car or cyclist is tearing down the road before you open the door....good thinking MB batman!
