can anyone help
my other half has a w210 e230 1997 model 152,000 miles .
basicaly the car has for a while been getting worse the symptoms are as follws from cold the car is very difficult to change up through the box. when setting off if i move the lever accross from D to 4 it will eventually change up. but i cannot get it to drop into 5th no matter what. you then come to a junction or lights etc and pull away again and it is still in 3rd or 4th(can be tricky) it never stalls or cuts out at all.if i drop it into 2nd and use the lever to change up as and when its fine. but still wont drop into 5th. even when warm there is no difference at first. then all of a sudden it drops into 5th and it drives perfectly for the rest of the journey in D.
whilst its having issues there is no kickdown then afterwards perfect.
upto know ive changed the oil and filter
new kickdown switch.
any help would be great
