W210 ignition key will not turn

The steering lock is coded to the EIS.

So a new unit from Mercedes is the most probable solution.

But if you know someone who can re-new them then you can use a ESL from another car.

Hi,
The EIS, ESL, are coded to the ECU, and can,t be recoded, this is the same as your keys.
You could find a breaker that will sell you a complete set of the above but i really would,nt recommend it, i would,nt spend any money on it till you can get someone with STAR otherwise i think you,ll throwing your money away, till you get a proper diagnosis.
