I'm currently looking for a W210 around 1999 to 2001 and would like to know if the drivers memory seat is worth having. Do you have it and like it or dislike it? Is it reliable or troublesome? Does the seat move quite quickly from one memory to another?

My wife is much shorter than I, so it would get quite a bit of use as we would both drive the car. I have been looking for a good one with a memory drivers seat, but have found this to be very difficult. Should I give up and go for regular electric or manual adjustment?

memory seats are great

I'm 6'3", my other half is 5' - makes swapping between the two of us very easy.

It takes a few seconds to adjust seat height and position, headrest height and steering wheel

If you dont have them you dont miss them. But once you've had memory seats, they become essential.

seats are essential, memory seats are a nice luxury - let's not lose sight of reality here :)

Yes, but when you're buying used it is better to hold out for memory seats and climate control. It won't make a big difference to the purchase price but it will enhance the experience once you have bought.

Only disadvantage of electric memory seats as fair as I know is that you need to turn the ignition on before they work. So getting into the seat after your wife might prove tight.

I'd rather buy a W210 on condition than toys.

Mine hasnt got memory seats jsut electric and doesnt cause any bother wifes has memory and neither of us use the memory bit, just shunt it about until comfy and drive it, maybe one day we will programme them maybe:)

But if i could have them in a car i would.

Got heated electric memory seats on both sides in the E320, only have a heated electric memory seat on the drivers side in the AMG (passenger seat is still heated) and yup it really is worth having :)

But really i can live moving the seats myself, can't live without an adjustable steering wheel or heated seats though.

Really very handy with that amount of height difference between drivers. I am about 6'2" and my wife is about 5'4" and if she leaves the seat where she likes it in a car then I can hardly get in at all to adjust. The memory seats work just with the door open and no key so I can press the button before getting in and don't have to struggle.
