W210 No CD 1-6

Hi,

My CD player has ground to a halt. When I load it and try to play it, it makes all the right whirring sounds but the radio display says "No CD 1-6" as if the magazine is empty, which it isn't.

Is there a quick fix, or best I get a proffessional to look at it?

I had the same. Iload it and unload it couple times and it works fine now. On mine it looked like problem with unit that wasnt in use for a while...

Have you checked the fibre optic cable connection?

If you find out what's wrong will you let me know, because I've never got mine working with the same symptoms you describe.

Could be the internal laser. I listen to the radio only so am not bothered.

I'll try turning the CDs over

Try disconnecting the power supply to the CD changer then reconnecting. I had a similar problem a couple of years ago and that solved mine, maybe a fluke though

I tried disconnecting it but still no joy.

I'll have to resort to the local paper. Wish me luck!

I have a spare working CD multi changer, if you wanted to try it in your car to eliminate your head unit and cabling.
