W210 Wagon/estate rear bumper removal, for retro fit reverse sensors, how do i do it?

Hi

Looking to remove the rear bumper to fit some flush fit reversing sensors. It would seem that the center section will come off once the two side inserts have been removed. ie the corner sections.
Kinda hard to describe this without pictures.

Thanks in advance

Sounds obvious but have you tried the Haynes manual? It gives you step by step instructions and pictures.

Which reversing kit have you got? Is it just an audible warning that works with the reverse light circuit? Need to see some pictures during and after fitting.

I dont think you can get a Haynes manual for the w210 i am looking for one myself but i have heard that the dealers use cd's not workshop manual does anybody know where i get hold of the cd's

I have seen some CD's on ebay but have heard they are worse than the Haynes manual.

No Haynes manual as of yet, but it is shown as short listed.
Planning on using the quanan sensors, unless others have a better idea. Autoexpress did a review on reversing sensors, can be viewed online. Was tempted by the wire strip type that go behind the bumper, but I have been told that when you stop moving, the sensor also stops working.

Added the wire strip type to my CLK. Had to take the whole bumper off to be able to relase the rubbing strip, however even with the whole bumper removed, because of the bumper mouldings and foam blocks, it is still hard to remove the rubbing strip. In the end, I attached the wire strip to some electrical wire and fed it though behind the rubbing strip. System works OK, but need to move slowly for it to detect (although since you're reversing anyway this is no problem!). However, when raining, I have found that the sensor picks up the rain and therefore gives a 'false' warning. Worth the £70-£80 though IMHO, esp in a CLK as it's impossible to see the end of the boot.

Does anyone know how to remove the front middle section of trim on a w210 ?

Ive done it. See electronics section. Detailed how to.
