Have had problems with front and rear screen washers not working in the last couple of days which I thought must be due to freezing, but I wasn't sure because I had recently added screen wash additive.

Had a closer look tonight and first of all discovered the bottle was empty:eek:, then found out why.

One of the front washer jets had lost its supply pipe. That was easy to replace and now it works OK again. :thumb:

But the rear one is more problematic. Took ages to remove the tailgate trim, then was surprised at what I found. The water supply pipe attaches onto an elbow just behind the wiper spindle, but the elbow had a round hole in it (see attachment). Luckily I spotted a small plastic plug in the boot (miraculous how that didn't get lost when I removed the trim) which fitted into the hole. I thought (hoped) I had made a simple quick repair, but alas when pressurised with water, this plug leaks all around.

Has anybody seen this problem before? Have I lost a seal which should be held in place by the plug?

Ok, here's another go at attaching a file.

Hello, did you ever find a solution to this? I have a similar problem where the black plastic has broken.

Ummm, it was a long time ago:o......

Well it is definitely fixed now. In fact nothing had actually broken it was just that the round plug did not seal when I replaced it. To be honest, I can't remember what I used to seal it. It might even have been just a bit of pva glue. Sorry.

Has your plug come out, or is something actually broken?

I have been a bit more conscientious with screen wash additive since then, but it is infuriating how the dilutions rates on the bottles are so inaccurate and misleading. It takes far more than expected to get the necessary protection.
