W210 Rear Window Demister Not Working

I have a E240 1999 (W210). My problem is the 'Rear Window' dimister is not working. When I press the 'Dimister' button on the console the red light on button is working but the rear window does not heat up.
I am a novice (and rather elderly) and would appreciate a simple remedy if there is one.
If it is a fuse where exactly would the fuse be located. What fuse no. colour etc.

Sorry I can't help with specifics for your vehicle, but one thing you could check (as well as the fuse) is that a connector hasn't become dislodged from the rear window. If you look carefully at the heating elements you will see that they disappear off towards the edge of the screen at some point. Follow it carefully and there may well be a couple of push-on connectors right at the edge. If one of these is loose or off then the HRW will not work.
