I have a w210 with a 280 V6 motor. It is misfiring at high revs and stumbling a bit when cold. I want to check the plugs but need a bit of genius assistance to help me remove them (easily!). The plug caps seem almost impossible to pull of and I am scared of snapping a plug.
Many thanks

As far as I know the plugs all have individual ignition coils which have to be removed to change the plugs. Mercedes dealers charge a lot for this operation due to the time involved. Some plugs can be difficult to change due to restricted access. Owners often leave this job to reliable independent workshops who have the experience and tools. http://www.detali.ru/cat/oem_mb2.as...GM=717.462&CT=M&cat=19X&SID=15&SGR=060&SGN=03

Its quite a long job... and you've also got 12 plugs to change...! much fun!

Use an open ended spanner to lever the plug caps off by using the head as a fulcrum point.

Before changing the plugs run the engine in a dark place and look for HT leakage. Also this problem could be the MAF causing lean mixture.
