Hi all, does anybody have a picture of the spring perches so I know what I should be looking at?

Also, what should be used in place of the orginal mastik once it has been removed?

Do you want to know what they look like when new before fitting or do you want a pic of one installed?
 
Sorry I thought E55 AMG was talking about the INVERTED CUP body section welded to the inner wings/chassis legs which rests on top of the springs and bears the weight of the car. I think the owners in the USA refer to these body/chassis parts as Spring Perches?? Hence the talk of mastic which masks the corroded welds? Quite common nasty problem leading to suspension collapse!!!! The diagram isn't very clear I know. Lots of postings on the Mercedes shop forum about this. I will try for a better picture tomorrow.

You are probably right, I was just thinking about the black rubber things that sit on top of the springs :)
 
One further question, does anybody know how much it would cost to replace the spring perches/cups on both sides?
