I have my old w210, I’m robbing the OM606 out of it - if you want the rack...

OK ......here is another way, from what I read, you want this part fitted rather than DIY.
Here is an Ebay advert for some repair parts, not the parts you need but, these people fit other parts so give them a phone and see if they will put new seals in yours.

I see there is a complete rack there from the UK and cheap posting,but with a different part number??1997 MERCEDES BENZ E230 W210 STEERING RACK A2104611201 ......I looked at other used racks here in the uk and all had the same part number, is your part number correct??

Having studied your leaking rack picture, is it the rack leaking? or are the unions just above the wet patch weeping. Unions will just be probably copper washers which would be very cheap to replace. Get it up on a 4 post or ramps and see exactly where the leak is. Just a thought.....You have had some awful hot weather there of late, has this brought about the leak?
This will keep you keep you going for a bit !

Hi, Yes it is currently very hot 35-40 degree here in Sydney Australia. I have taken the car to the mechanic and he just asked me to replace the steering rack without explaining which part of the rack is leaking. I will try to ask more info. I have found from ebay uk (Mercedes-Benz E-Class W210 without Speed Sensor [1995-2002] Power Steering Rack | eBay) that the seller replies it can used to replace it but needs to check whether the rack has speed sensor.

Here is exactly the rack you need but it is in Latvia, but they post world wide

The difference in the part numbers will account for you needing one with a speed sensor

I have just searched Google just using your part number and that has brought up several.

Yes, I have found this one also but 200Euro shipping cost is a little bit expensive. I will ask the mechanic to confirm whether mine has a speed sensor. Thanks again!
