W210 Tie Rod/Track Rod End

ECP - TRW (Lucas) £30
Ebay - Original MB part for £42 or this FAI to clear for £7.82!

TO CLEAR - NEW FAI FRONT RIGHT TIE ROD END / TRACK ROD END SS1147 | eBay

I have bought from this seller before and not had an issue, I only learned about FAI from the Mercland thread and it is highly thought of.

Thoughts?

Like you, until that thread yesterday, I thought FAI were on a level with Qdrive etc.

Why am I so impatient?

I put an offer in for £35 for the one on ebay (Genuine MB) and it was accepted

The nut had to be ordered from MB so they informed me that it is not on the shelf and I need to order it. Not a problem I said. He (parts) then said they come in a pack of 3 and you have to have all 3.

I agreed but

(a) MB you robbing bar stewards
(b) Why pack of 3 when only 2 on the car?

I could have ordered online but then they wanted £4.69 delivery

Not good...even patterns come with the nut!?

On removing W210 TRE ball joints:
I've found both pickle forks and the opposing hammer method ineffective, due to dimensions and bad access.
Going to go with the other type of tool - the fulcrum and big bolt type, when I find one that un-eqivocally... fits.
