The front inner wing on my w210 was badly rusted (bad design and the overflow from the radiator header drains onto the area) and had to cut a reasonable section out. Of course I manage to cut straight through one of the studs that are welded onto the inner wheel well and are used with plastic nuts to attach the inner liner. These look like around a M5 or M6 - but are very coarse thread. Can anyone pint me to the correct description, a listing or a shop to buy some.

Hi,
I believe they are MB Pt.No. A 0009901210
They are simi;ar to a riv nut.

Thanks Andy. While it's not that actual unit the coarse thread looks the same. The studs are welded into the inner wings and then the plastic nut retains the inner wheel well liner.

The thread on the original studs is more like a self tapping wood screw.
I have just updated my thread on the same problem.
I did get some hanger bolts which I could screw into the rivet nuts. These have an metric thread on one end and a self tapper type thread on the other.
However, I think I will just use bolts through the original plastic washers.

The MB repair kit is £16.56 each so I didn't use them.

If you have access to the rear of the panel you could just weld on a suitable size of screw.
