w210 wheel, will it fit my w124

Does a w210 steering wheel fit on a w124??

a pre-facelift W210 (ie no buttons on the steering wheel) wheel will yes. will go straight in. They are identical, even the airbags will be compatible

without modification, don't think so.

W210 steering wheel sits on the same contact ring as found in R129 / W140 / R170 / W202 / early W208

maybe I'm wrong.

Confused now?

Pre facelift W210 steering wheel will fit a W124 with no problem. The airbags are the same so you can use the one of the 124. Silversaloon is correct.

The W124 "horn ring" can be unbolted from the 124 steering wheel and bolted into the new 210 wheel, as the actual steering wheel is exactly the same however the contact ring must be changed.

This also goes for R129 / W140 / R170 / W202 / early W208 wheels as stated above.

I fitted a 208 steering wheel to my 190 many years ago without problem.

hi

yes i was assuming that the parts would be swapped over from an existing w124 wheel.

a new wire (with standard male/female connections) may need to be made up if you need to swap the bits around. very simple and obvious when you see the two wheels next to each other

Go on you know you want to use the new solved button, wherever it is:D

So I can safely buy an R170'steering wheel and it will fit right into my W124, provided I unbolt my horn rigg and bolt in onto the R170 wheel?

Yeah. I'll see if I can find some pics of a 170 wheel in my 190.

I does fit,not sure about the horn ring though

Can't find pics with the earlier wheel which was an easy swap. I also swapped this one in, which did involve some butchering to get the horn to work and eventually got some of the multifunction buttons to work with my in car pc I had at the time.

Oh, that's just gorgeous! So this is an R170 steering wheel into a W124? I'm doing it! What's the extent of the butchering you are referring to? And do the airbag connectors fit? And what's the wheel diameter? Obviously, the smaller the better. It just seems a bit of a very small incremental change to go from 400mm to 390mm with the W124 Sportline. What's significantly smaller than that and will fit? Original Mercedes wheels, that is. I'm not interested in going aftermarket such as RAID or various tuner wheels.

Hold on, so d_w124 swapped for an R170 wheel into a W124, and V12 swapped a W210 into a W201? And both worked fine and with minimum fuss? Diameters, please! And details of the complexity of the swaps.
Thanks!

Boris:The steering wheel ^ is for sale but not with the airbag
Straight fit and I'm 90% sure I can we can make the horn ring from your steering wheel work

I fitted the W210 wheel in 2006 or 2007. I can't recall what we actually did but it wasn't straightforward, that's for sure.
I'd advise against it unless you have some spare wheels to play with.
