(1) Picture one shows the visual check with the car up on the ramps. You can clearly see the 'Magnetic Reluctor Ring' is off the end of the shaft, Faults will come up as ABS/ESP/Speed Sensor/Cruise control may not work, also may may say Speed tronic error all relate to this missing Reluctor ring...if it looks like this do not bother changing the ABS/Speed Tronic sensor....the sensor reads the Ring, No Ring = no reading = ABS/ESP ETC. Errors.
(2) With all the arms removed, brake caliber removed, remove the nut that holds the hub in place and knock the shaft through to allow you space to remove the old ring & fit the new one.
(3)This picture just shows the brake disc moved to one side and supported.
I watched my mechanic do this work, 1 1/2 hours each side total bill inc, £210.
He cleared the faults with his computer but im sure the errors would have cleared once the car was driven, or you can put the steering left, right, centre turn off and restart...not sure!
Again im just posting this hoping it will help somebody.....take away that panic etc.....It's not a specialist job, no special tools and it should not cost you a fortune to fix.
