Morning All,

So, I have a 2008 W211, had it a year now and, I love it, I used to change cars every 3-6 months but I can’t fault it.. well, it has one, minor problem, THESE REAR SEATS DONT FOLD.

It’s driving me crazy.

So, I am looking at retrofitting them.

I’m thinking I need (from a W211 donor)

1. Parcel shelf
2. Latches in the boot them go to the rear seats x 2
3. The 4 parts to the rear bench (the 40/60 split rears, and each side)
4. The bases (40/60) with the mechanisms
5. The hinge the holds and folds the rears down(can some one help me with this)
6. All screws and bolts

I can find parts 1-4, but not 5 - can someone help me there?

Also, I’ll need to drill out the area between the rear back rear and the boot (the metal plate is riveted on)

I won’t be able to put in the electrics, but I know I’ll need to put the front seats forward and I know how to clip in the rear back rests so happy about the electrics.

What’s everyone’s thought on it?

I just picked up a 2007 w211 with only 75k on it for so cheap i couldnt say no... without folding seats.... and it looks they are a bit more involved than the newer years. Like how the base of the rear seats flip forward. I don't think they do this n the W212...

I recall reading somewhere that it can't be done due to structural differences and positioning of the fuel tank. But not 100% sure. If you do pull it of, please share as I would too like this. Would make finding the water leak in the boot soo much easier!
