Hi all,

I noticed recently that my car sometimes seems to loose power and what it is, is that the revs wont go over about 3000rpm. Its a 2.2 diesel.

I have found out that by switching the engine off then on the problem goes away but then comes back at some later point. Really only noticed this on the motorway.

Will be phoning MB today but wanted your thoughts as this i am sure has happened to others,

Thanks, Harry :)

Sounds as if it's going into "Limp Home" mode. If the dealer plugs the car into Star it will say the reason for this.

Sound like a turbo problem maybe. They tend to suffer with it. The waste gate is electronicaly controled and they can stick momentarily. Also the turbo is a vairable vane variety and the vanes can stick too causing your problem.

Might be a much more simple problem causing it though. There are so many thing than can cause lack of power.

more than likely to be just the MAF sensor... ive been having the exact same issue on an ML and the MAF cured it...
