W211 Air Con Compressor

My S211 is blowing warm air and needs a new air con compressor. Is there much difference between brands? Remember to replace the dryer at the same time

And flush the system, i mean really flush the system if the compressor is seized. If you don't it will only seize again and void any warranty.

I require a new compressor also for my W124 coupe. MB no longer have stock or produce according to the main dealer. I was looking online and wandered if there was any real difference by brand other than price?

Why does the dryer require replacement at the same time?

Once the drier has been open to the atmosphere it will adsorb water until it no longer works and the contents could possibly enter the ac system. You do not want that to happen as it will require the whole system to be stripped and cleaned. i put a filter drier on the wrong way round on a bus system once and it took 3 days to clean it fully (and a good bollo king!!!).
