HiDs direct are a distributor for Arnott Europe. The Arnott units are not super cheap but good quality.

Sorry to hear it's more expense at the moment for you and a naff time of year for it.

 Bad luck Gav. Triggers broom is becoming a reality!

Only places I have seen advertising these air struts are the following. I have no experience of using any company.

https://airdominance.co.uk/product-category/mercedes/e-class/w211/

https://www.arnotteurope.com/p-4253...ercedes-benz-cls-class-w219-e-class-w211.aspx

Looks like GSF and EurocarParts are authorised agents for Arnott, so maybe worth enquiring at your local branch. I see they also have brand new, and remanufactured struts.

Order Mercedes Air Suspension online at low prices from HIDS Direct | HIDS Direct Ltd. for HID Xenon kits, Xenon bulbs, MTEC bulbs, LED's, Car Parts and Air Suspension

Airdominance are the same people the Failed/failing nsf was recon'd by, I thought it wasa different design but infact i think its the same but the protective lower gaiter is missing! Certainly has not helped the life span.

Thanks for the replies peeps as always, :/

I thought MB offer re-furbed struts (I probably mis-read it somewhere)? Or is it new only?

From experience getting any sense from GSF and ECP with their Arnott products is very hard work.

I ordered a rear bag from ECP two weeks and many calls I just gave up and got it cheaper from HIDs direct.

Also worth a call to Acid at MSL I know he had two front units a couple of months back. I would wager he still has them.

ECP are doing a black friday deal, and you can get a whole coil spring conversion kit for £659! inc vat

Im not one for going down routes like that usually BUT that is cheap, Its ,made by Arnott and comes with the By pass relay for the electrics.

There part number 975228511

Bad luck mate...sorry to hear this.
It might just be that the colder weather has made the rubber seal shrink, perhaps you could rejuvenate them with some rubber sealer. now I know some people here will scoff at this but believe me this stuff in the lnk will make any rubber seals expand, I know someone did actually put this on there roof rubber seals of their SL & it stopped the chirping of the rubber.
ATP Automotive AT-205 Re-Seal
Its worth a try ? Hope this may help & again sorry to hear this.

The cold weather does make a difference to the leak. Mine is leaking as well. Had a really cold night and it went down. Weather got warmer and car stayed up. Then I had the car out and left it all day hardly moved. Then went down quick as the frost arrived. I had mine in a merc specialist and was advised just to keep my eye on it for the moment. The pump was tested and not overheating or stressed. Was told that as long as the fall is just overnight and slow no need to worry. However if it goes down in say 30mins then time to get a new strut asap.

Can't help with the parts, sorry. Don't lose faith in what you are aiming for here though. My 124 nearly had me beaten, when after a full restoration, including a full gearbox rebuild that required the engine coming out!! The engine blew up on her first run out to a meeting of members on here. To say I was gutted does not come close. But fellow members came to my rescue with parts (including a crank shaft) practical help and huge support on here.

Your car looks great and you will get there.

Also you could try spraying the tops of your struts where the airmatic lines are coming out with soapy water when you first start the car.If you see bubbles forming you have cracks in the epoxy and should try sealing cracks with superglue. Can't take credit for this. Read it elsewhere and have yet to try myself.

Mine was slowly lowering over a couple of days so I thought it would be okay to leave it as I had just refurbished the compressor.
Headed north to a family funeral and driving from the service to the wake got the red suspension low message.
The rubber bag had burst and had to get rescued home. Fortunately, the driver was out of hours so they gave me a courtesy car to complete my weekend and delivered my car on the Monday.
Took 5 weeks to get the parts for repair.
So, I would say proceed with caution if yours is leaking.

Tony
