Hi all,
I’ve just fitted a towbar to our 09 W211, which was problem free with the exception of replacement boot panels to hide the boot strengthening brackets ( I can’t believe that Mercedes designed a car that needs additional strengtheners for towing, but that’s another story).
The local dealer cannot find a reference to the part numbers listed in the Westfalia manual and have supplied two replacement panels that don’t fit correctly. The shape at the end that mates with the rear seat panel is totally wrong and they have additional cut outs which leave unsightly gaps.
My wife took the car in to the dealer this afternoon so they could compare the original panels against the replacements and they are adamant that there is only one part number listed. They have forced the panels into place, but the fit is all wrong and the boot carpet doesn’t fit properly.
Does anybody have an experience of ordering these panels/ part numbers they can share? Do Mercedes have technical support I could contact?
