W211 Boot Wouldn't open

Hi All,
I tried to open the boot last night on my W211 and it would not open...

Basically when I squeezed the latch above the number plate.. you could hear the solenoid clicking several times to release the boot... the boot stayed shut..

any ideas...

I presume you mean the button on the key fob... admittantly never tried this but did try the boot release on the drivers door... same issue.... eventually the boot released..

I mean the key blade inserted in your electronic key.

The release mechanism is likely to be shot but will need investigation to find out.

It is highly probable that this is the case, however there is also a slim chance it might just be the 211 doing its safety procedures. If the battery is slightly flat then the 211 is designed to shut down the Comfort options. These include electronic boot opening\closing and of course most of the other gadgets.

If everything else works with the engine NOT running then it is probably what has been suggested by BlackC55
