Taken from my 2008 (2009 MY) CLS 500 as have replaced with an aftermarket unit, in good condition and working perfectly, only removed on Monday this week.
I think it is from before the security stuff was added but I am no expert, the car was registered May 2008 and the security codes were added in the third quarter, not sure where it is at on updates but I would assume it is as it came from the factory.
My car doesnt have HK sound so it wont be coded to use the Optical Amp apparently, but this can be done with Star.
