W211 CD Changer Cover + more

Pleased to meet you all.

I drove the wifes W211 '03 estate today and to my surprise found that it had a hidden CD Changer that we didn't know existed, now before you all laugh away the button to operate it electrically doesn't work, I was stuck in a 2 hr west london traffic jam when my boredom turned to fiddling & I then stumbled across the hidden 6-CD gem.

Having had a quick read around the forums I have a couple of questions :-

How do I know what Audio Unit I have? Audio-10/20 etc, It has a single front cd loader.

Can either the single CD or CDC play MP3's - I've had a quick try - display states 'WRONG CD'

Can I fix the electric operation of the CDC cover? I have read that I could try reseating fuse #6 - no idea where this is tho.

The regular CD eject button works only when it wants to - anyone seen this before?

OK so I asked more than a couple , if you can help with any of them that would be great. Apologies if these have been answered elsewhere.

Suggest a pic of the audio unit so we can help identify. It's probably a Audio 20

Can only play MP3 if there is a CD changer so you should be OK

Not sure on the other 2 - but someone will be along shortly

The fuse diagram should be in the side pocket of the dashboard. That is drivers side, open the drivers door and remove the cover at the end of the dashboard, the diagram should be inside along with some of the fuses.

as far as im aware the 6cd changer will not play mp3's before 2005.
