W211 CD cover problem?

W211 CD Cover problem?
recently the cover that hides the 6 CD player unit began to not operate on the push of the button and started to jump in and out slightly with a clicking sound.If you pull the unit cover it will open to reveal the CD's.
Can anybody help? or suggest problem.
The silver small button on the front seems to be very tempremental
all other buttons on the front still work..hazrds/seat headrest/etc

I suspect the drive motor/ mech is failing. Remove it and take a look. It's a bit fiddly but diyable

Took your advice Black C55 a little fiddly but found a worn plastic cog modified it alittle and the unit is working thanks for the advice
