You can buy a cup holder that fits in its place but it's a bit awkward; they are only designed for LHD vehicles.

Better than nothing though I suppose.

Thanks guys I think its best to avoid cup holder after reading up on them.
So theres no other cup holder and that area will just be for general storage, bummer

I bought the cup holder, it's quite a fancy mechanism but totally useless for holding cups or cans and an absolute no no if on the move. I actually use it as a cradle for my phone and then use the slot that it creates to the side as the cup holder which works perfectly well.

So basically a long winded way of saying it is worth having after all!

I've got the cup holder in mine, it's ok but obviously not great with it being for LHD.

I bought it purely for water bottles.. seems fine for that purpose... would be concerned with placing cups of sort in there... likely to spill

From what I can see for my W203, the cup holder swivels sideways, and for a RHD car this means it will end up just above the driver's left leg?

Could be a good reminder that you shouldn't have hot coffee in the car while driving.

I don't - the wife does (while I am driving).

There's a sort of hole with rubber base in the centre console that supposed to be a cup holder, but it does not hold her paper cup straight and the tea spills through the lid when I brake (she doesn't drink coffee).
