W211 E-class Central Locking Gunning

Hi there,

My brother in law has a 2003 W211 E-class, and the central locking has starting 'gunning' whenever it is operated.

Being a 4 door, the back doors open and lock fine, however both of the front doors, start machine gunning and after several attempts will randomly lock/unlock as desired.

I have read similar issues on previous thread regarding a CLK which pointed towards door actuator - would the same apply to the E-class? and would it be two actuators or anyway of eliminating anything?

Both front door locks will need replacing.

any idea on the cost involved? assuming an independent will be able to do it.
