I though you might like to know that you can still buy the intermediate shelf for the W211 E-Class glove box.
I was looking in the glovebox and noticed that there were a couple of supports which looked like they were designed to hold a shelf, then I had a look at some forums and ordered the part from MB MK only to find that there are different versions for LHD and RHD!
The right part number is 211 680 04 30, and this comes with a chrome strip on the front and nice plush surfaces. Cost was just under £25! Helps to get everything organised!
