W211 (E220 2002) Squeak - from somewhere ?

This squeak has been getting worse over a period of time and has roughly coincided with a strange rubber on rubber noise from the steering when slowly manoeuvring which is intermittent and may not be linked to this squeak.

Hopefully there may be few suggestions as to the possible culprit - It's getting very annoying !!

Ball joint, could be lower or upper.

Thanks for your reply ! Fitted new lower ball joint (eventually !) Noise now gone and although early days, the other steering 'rubber on rubber' noise also has gone.
