E270 CDI W211 2004
Hello all

My W211 E270 CDI (2004) seems to be running a bit cold. At normal cruising about it the temperature reads below 80deg. The car runs fine but the cabin heater seems to be very very slightly temperamental.

I would like to do a coolant flush and replace this weekend and also change the thermostat.

I wondered if anyone had advice on this - such as coolant amount required and type.

Also the process in flushing it all out and replacing.

And of course the Thermostat replacement

Apologies for the all the questions.

Thanks in advance.

Sam

The drain plug is on the bottom right side if you are facing the car with bonnet open. The manual says it takes 11.5 litres. As you are draining the coolant, measure it and put the exact amount in. The coolant:water mix should b 50:50 though I have read somewhere that it can be 40:60. I think you should be fine with 3x1.5 litres of coolant (green color). That's what I did.
Hope this helps.

that's fantastic info - thanks for that. Did you use a particular brand/grade of coolant?
cheers

Use Mercedes, guaranteed to be the right stuff then. Ask your dealer.
