Hi guys. Today I opened the cap of the power steering reservoir and fluid was low. I didn`t realised thet it was morning - 10 C and and engine stone cold...:wallbash: I topped up the fluid to the max when hot...:wallbash:
I really don`t want to open the engine cover again...it`s really bad?...or can I drive without problems

Shouldn't be a problem (awaits completely conflicting replies).

My C240 has a power steering leak that I have been getting around to fixing for the past four years. I can now refill the reservoir blindfolded, upside down in my pyjamas if ever required.

Thx. Anyway...not that I don`t trust you...but for my peace of mind I`m waiting for a second opinion. Lots of thx guys

If really worried about it just suck some out. You can get extractor pumps or syringes, for exactly this on ebay. Warning: The fluid is harmful to paint so avoid dripping it over your car paint. Some have used kitchen towel dipped into the reservoir to soak a little up.

Try a turkey baster - around £1:50 on Ebay.

PS found an interesting alternative use for one when I googled it.

Thx...problem solved. Now its on the right level

Very simple guys. I sucked the fluid with a medicinal syringe with a perfusion hose
