w211 e280cdi sport tail pipes

Hi streethawk I've tried this and also soaked the tailpipes where they join to exhaust but won't bloody move, I heard that they were welded? My dad's w212 has similar pipe and he was able to remove via Allen bolt

When I was at mercland they said take bolt out and whack it off with a soft mallet. It's something I want to do to mine and take them work and polish. If I get time soon I'll post the results. Mine are in real good nik though as I've used autosol on them a few times. Might be worth trying when there hot as tips are thin so should expand more than the exhaust. Just a thought.

Ok great let me know how u get on cheers!

I've had a go at removing them before for the same reason and couldn't get mine to shift.

They are not welded on, just a real tight fit.

Remove the allen bolt and hammer them off hitting side to side to jiggle them off
