Hi Folks

Just started detailing my E320, the stainless exhaust trims could do with a good clean, I'd like to remove to do this but cant see how. I've removed the bolt on the underside but they are still very firmly attached. So they are either rusted on or I'm missing some other mounting/securing attachment.

Any ideas?

If you have removed the bolts and the tips are reluctant to budge, try soaking the joints with a large amount of penetrating fluid like WD-40 and leaving them for 15/20 minutes.

If they still won't move, clean them up whilst still on the car with fine wire wool and Autosol. I did the insides of mine with a drill/ metal wire attachment and Autosol and finished off with Brasso and polish.

Also, if you can get enough room, a good whack with a rubber/ leather hammer may work after soaking with wd40 etc.

Thanks, will give the ED40 a go. Just wanted to be sure I hadn't missed a hidden bolt/clip or something.
