W211 E320 - Low Fuel Light - When?

Hi Folks

Perhaps I'm missing the obvious but I cant see this in the owners book...

When the low fuel warning light comes on how much fuel is left in the tank?

It will be in the manual at the back in the technical section that gives the fuel capacity. It will say something like including a reserve of 'X' litres. Mine is 8 litres but maybe a bit more on an E class.

My 320CDI display shows about 7-8L (80L tank), but if filling tank full and calculating it is actually near 10L... I think it designed so that you'll able to drive around 100km with normal style.

These cars are no longer new, I'd fill up soon after the light comes on.

It may not be scientific but I don't like the idea of dragging a load of old crap up from a near empty tank.

The fuel pick up is at the bottom of the tank for a reason.......
