Car just back from local garage, having had a mini service of oil and filter change plus a general check over, all well. Both batteries were replaced as they did not perform to well on a battery tester. Apparently they were the original batteries from new, 13 years???. I had them put some Forte cleaner into the tank and also had some gunk put in before draining the oil (forgotten the name of it, sorry...). Car roared into life and drove superbly, quite a bit quieter than before and it wasn't noisy to start with.
Anyway, I am hoping that it was worth the £400 bill.... Gearbox service next month now I think.
