Hi there,
I was wondering if my car W211 E55 amg estate 2004 share the same parts for the suspension like other W211 models like E220 for example??(Both for the airmatic and for the non airmatic suspension components)
Does my estate share the same parts like W211 E55 sedans?
Front suspension thrust arms, front ball joints are the same, rear air bellows??

Thank you

The front hub for my CLS55 was ~£600 and order only from Germany. The non AMG variant was £200 and off the shelf...

I received an invoice of £2,500 to replace both front suspension thrust arms, both front ball joints, and rear air bellows from a Mercedes specialist and was thinking of alternatives....

airbags and shocks are different on AMG w/s211
Shocks? Do you mean the air struts? If so, my understanding is that the full airmatic is the same across all S211 pre facelift (at least) but the components differ as mentioned above for AMG spec handling.

However, I have discussed this occasionally with my indy and he tells me that there would be little difference in maintenance costs between my E500 and an E55, so I cannot speak with certainty about the difference in perishable components.

If you own an AMG, be ready to pay AMG maintenance costs.....
It seems that this AMG model is complicated or the mechanics do not have much experience on this car in the sense that you go to one mechanic (A) and gives an invoice of £4,000 then you go to another(B) and fixes your car with £400.You go for another problem to mechanic (B) he charges you £500 and does not repair your car.You go to a few mechanics and they don't know how to set the air suspension levels. My C32 was very reliable, had only suspension issues which would cost a few hundred per year.

I think the shocks are the same across the range..

A211 326 6900 for the rear n/s.

I can't see how - Airmatic cars - inc E500's and E55's - have switchable dampers - Comfort, Sport and Sport 2.

Cars that just have air bellows and self levelling at the rear don't.

A more useful comparison would be that the between the Airmatic on normal 211's and the E55's. If the bellows are the same, for example, you can save money but buying them from Autodoc. Same for the (separate) rear dampers.

The front units combine the air spring & damper in a strut.

OP, I suggest you stick you reg or chassis number in Autodoc and see what prices they're offering. I bought rear bellows from my 212 from there. Can't recall the brand but it was one of the well known ones, not some sort of Chinese knock off.

Only bilstein or OEM will enable retention of the three settings, iirc.

Did you have to reset the airmatic with the STAR after you finished??
The height settings need to be calibrated. There may be other requirements and my experience is as a customer whose car was set too low at standard setting after the replacement of the rear struts.
