W211 E55 AMG or W203 C55 AMG Wanted

Instead of selling my car and replacing it with a weekend toy and a family car, I've decided that life's too short and I'm going to buy a combination of the two and a W211 E55 or W203 C55 AMG fits the bill just nicely.

If my own car (2007/57 plate W211 E320 CDi Sport) tickles your fancy, I'm sure we can work something out. It's up for sale on the forum and it'll be going on eBay etc when I get the documents back for my private plate in about a fortnights time.

Pretty much what I'll get for my E320 Sport will be the budget, so about £11,500ish.

I've seen a C55 at £8,500 and another at £9,000 that interests me but I might have to see what the space is like in the back of one first.

Ok if you have small kids though, not so good for teenagers / adults.

Mileage isn't that important, as long as you can show that the car has been cared for.

Sod's law. You and GreetMe both after the same. Bought mine last September (you may remember - you warmly welcomed me to the forum, I was/am the Luddite) with the plan of having a year's fun, then parting company. Figured I wouldn't lose a fortune on it.

No doubt, come September, one of three things will happen, in no particular order;

1. Nobody will want one (even a black one with keyless and Pano, if you're reading this GreetMe )

2. Prices will have plummeted to the bowels of hell

3. The next VMax event will result in some over exuberance on my part and a Monaro moment, now that my confidence is building (JonhEBoy, got to you to thank for that - am feeling competitive now )

There is a 4 though.... My enjoyment of the car will still to be strong enough to convince Mrs TDE1 to allow it to remain in the love triangle

I digress, apologies. Sweetpea, go for the W211 E55k if you can. It's the largest engined, most powerful car I've ever owned, but is so user friendly, good looking, spacious, comfortable and, IMveryHO, the best all-rounder in it's class.

The biggest reason for going with a W203 C55 would be purely so I can have a change from all the W211's.

Our indy has one (not a C55) although that would be nice... and after teh E it feels much smaller. In a good way if its just you for 'driving' but if you have passengers....

About £63,000.

Seriously though, there are few 57 plate E320 CDi Sports with my level of specification for much less than around the £12k mark.
