Hi folks,

Striped out the various trim and wipers to look at replacing the heater control valve - I can see it, but it looks like to get adequate access, the master cylinder needs to come out.

So, is removing the master cylinder a viable task at home or is specialist kit required to deal with the system and how big a job is it?

I have a good local independent, but its timing to get the car to them that is the issue, so if I can crack on and do it myself, its just easier.

any guidance appreciated.

Cheers
Bon

You don't need to remove it. It's do-able in place.

I remove the wipers/scuttle panel underneath and the wiper mechanism, I then disconnect the in and out pipes from the cabin end of the duo valve and remove the pipes with the valve that's the easiest way I have found, got them down to under an hour now.
