Hello,

I took a look at the engine bay today and noticed the rear of the double pulley has melted. Anyone got an recommendations for replacements also does anyone have a WIS for replacing it or torque specs please?

No idea what caused it but I did a 200 mile motorway journey yesterday and did use the AC for the first time. No real issues at all though it did feel a tad bit rough as I got close to home. No burning smell or screeches from the pulley.

Thanks

You have two pulleys on one shaft. One plastic (the melted one) and one metal. I don't know what generated the heat to do that. Last year the main bearing on mine failed. Tried to get individual parts but was told it's only available as an assembly. Couple of calls to MB dealers. "It's £390." Me "Inc VAT?" "No, plus VAT."
My local motor factors sourced me a Febi Bilstein OEM equivalent for £200.
While you are at it, change both belts. They are not expensive and I'd recommend Gates.

got a full billet pulley set for £350 if interested ( 5 pulleys) , bought them for my E55 (£450) from the US but never used them.

Sent you a PM
