W211 E55 - Predicting Value over the next few years

Exactly that - they bottomed out some while back, then prices firmed up a little bit. But sadly when it comes to future values cat C/D (or S/N) cars, or ones with high mileage/incomplete history/modifications are less likely to be in demand.

I don’t see the E55 offering much other than the fantastic M113K engine - it wasn’t a one-off like the Lotus Carlton, nor was it some race-going motorsport special with real pedigree etc. It was just a great car with immense performance for its time

No bad thing but they made so many of them, and so many similar cars with the same engine that I can’t see them being worth the equivalent of £70k in 15 years time, but neither do I see them as being worthless either (£2000) as I mentioned elsewhere in this thread.

Only my own thoughts and of course time will tell :thumb:

Having owned a 211 55 for 5.5 years, I have to say it was by far and away one of the greatest cars I've owned and ever will own.

However, as already alluded to, they are very expensive to run and are ageing now - the newest being 14 years old now.

Will they appreciate like some of the other popular classic fast cars?

No.

The difference is over stuff like E39 M5s etc. is the 211 55 has AirMATIC, very-complicated electronics as well as SBC (somewhat over-engineered).

It is a great car and even in standard form, will see of plenty of stuff even now, as you have stated OP.

But I don't see it ever hitting anything higher than now and if anything, they will drop and become even more of a bargain (if you can stomach the running costs).

I have this great car John is referring to, and it is a great car even if I say so myself.
Understated (slightly modified) beast, no problem keeping up with the new stuff, had a run with a new C63s (standard), sat next to it all the way. You should've seen the guys face.

Enjoy the car or sell for something new I say.
