w211 E55 transmission and rear diff mounts

Recently acquired my first E55 and generally loving it, had the car checked through my the local merc service centre and all clear however I keep thinking I can hear thuds and bumps in either the transmission the rear diff/sub frame area.

Seems to be on picking up power and changing from reverse to drive, probably paranoia on my part but what are the weak/wear points on the W211 tanny mounts and diff carriers bushes etc.

Have the diff mounting bolts check torqued.

will most likely be the front mounts on the rear subframe, had mine done a while back and then redone a few months back. Get the bolts changed too as they can snap.

I used Alex Crow in stowmarket, top indi if you ever need one and a stones throw away from the station... or he will loan you a car!

Definitely worth checking the front bushes in the rear subframe, and also the flex discs on the propshaft.

What's the mileage etc out of interest?
