Hi

Has anyone on here done there own oil and oil filter change on a e55k? I've been reading up and it says there are 2x drain plugs?

Does it matter which one gets drain 1st? sorry if its a stupid question, just thought it was worth a ask:D

Done mine recently, I always go main plug then the 2nd plug (no reason).

Make sure you have a big drain pan, 8+ litres :D

WIS just states remove both plugs and then to replace both the plug and seal

Thanks peeps :)

Suck it out through the dip stick, that's how Mercedes do it!

You can't suck out the oil on the 55k, no dipstick hole and/has two sump pans, as the thread has stated.

Id prefer to drain it all out , despite what Mb do, Lets face it they used to say the gearbox's are sealed for life:crazy:

This is true, they obviously can't do it with the 55k anyway!

And WIS also states it cannot be sucked out as it has a split sump.
