It's rather funny how certain cars are written off from suspected buyers without even trying out or looking over these cars.

It seems like cars are expected to be bought for little little money with perfection history and condition. It's hard to comprehend this with a car the age of the early w211/s211 E63's.

That's a bit harsh. The E63 near Maidstone mentioned earlier would have been a great contender (as I understand) had it had the correct 'must have' toys inside and pano roof. So cars in good condition do exist, but with the options wanted by the OP, it narrows the field down quite a lot without having to go and look at the car.

I was looking for a s/w211 E320 CDI for the best part of a year, and virtually none came up with the options I wanted, which was simply heated seats, the later NTG2.5 COMAND, and if possible real leather.
I was very surprised at how many DIDN'T have heated seats, and the ones that did I initially dismissed on what appeared to be rough condition in photos (I mean rough, not just that they weren't perfect).
I then thought I should be less picky and look at the cars that looked a bit tired on the photos, but might have been okay and need only a little work to sort out. Complete sheds, every single one of them. Rusting tailgates by the wiper arm, rusting arches, broken interior trim, dodgy sounds under the engine, random tyres on all 4 corners. I did find a couple the met the bill without the COMAND NTG2.5, but at the time that wasn't a compromise I was willing to make (seeing as I only had 2 firm requirements and on the face of it neither of those seemed particularly outlandish).

In the end, I had to go for the w212 as they were more plentiful.

There is only one for sale on autotrader and it has been advertised for some time - almost 9 months.

Speaks volumes plus I would ideally like a sub 60k car.

I think that in combination with the other requirements could mean a long wait or a big budget hike. Of course you're aware these cars are getting on a bit now, and even 80k miles is very below average, so I think below 60k with the right options will be very limited.

100% right, s black estate has just cropped up for i think its £16995 and it has 130k on the clock lol almost getting to w212 money that, there's also a w212 import on ebay for £14995 and I'm trying to figure out for myself why its around 5K cheaper than the rest out there considering being imported the underside will be immaculate for a start

Sorry, I was confused with an identical post by someone else. Oh dear, a bit embarrassed now. Apologies buddy.

Soooo, if the Maidstone one is still available, looks good but was I think 83k miles. It was raked over on the other thread I'm thinking of, but didn't have massage or pano, which were mist haves. It hasn't sold for ages, but it's been serviced on time by the seller and is, I think, virtually a one owner car!
