My dads W211 E63 is having some random issues, it occasionaly gets stuck in gear and will only drop out of said gear when turned off and restarted.
He said the EML came on once but has gone back off now.
I have a scanner which i'll use this Friday, but i just wonderd if this could be the common conductor plate issue or a bad ecu?

Also does anyone know any decent indie's in the North East that could look/fix it.
We are going to change the box oil this Saturday but i dont think that will make any difference as the box is smooth its just getting stuck in gear, but its due a change anyway so thought we'd try that first.

Car is only on 45k miles its a 2006 and full Merc history from new... last service was done 2k ago by us (interim) and last merc service was 6k ago.

Do they have ZF gearboxes?
If so it could be a faulty solenoid.

Probably speed sensor failure on the electrics kit , I remember reading a while ago that being an amg there is no repair kit available like the other cars that use the 7g transmission , could be wrong though !
Get the codes read and go from there mate

Stans Auto Garage on commercial road, south shields.
He has a highly modded S63AMG and knows his stuff
