How common is this on these cars. I'm looking at this:

Mercedes-Benz E Class 6.2 E63 AMG 7G-Tronic 4dr

Is it something that will happen sooner or later??

Generalising just a bit here - I would have thought that if it hadn't gone by 97K you'd be ok.

There is an ARP stud route to overcome the headbolt issue if you feel the car is for you

Very rare considering how many m156 cars were manufactured.

Give MB Grangemouth or MB Newcastle a ring before you order any parts. They seem to heavily discount brake items in particular.

I just got F/R pads for my 212 E63 from MB Grangemouth £320 total. Equates to 30% discount. IIRC the quote for all discs and pads was c£1100

I would go with AMGeed's advice as those dealers mentioned seem to give good discounts. I just got 25% off from MB Grangemouth when ordering front springs

Although, someone posted this the other day (not sure on which forum) but cannot find the link so may have been removed? Bargain price although for W212 etc

Probably got removed as he joined the forum to advertise his ebay page, I checked on euro car parts when they had a 30% discount offer and those pads in Trw cost £69!
