W211 isofix mistake!

Just buy a non-ISOFIX seat OP rather than change cars.

We assumed the same in my other half’s CLS350 as thought being a 2009 it would have it by default. Alas if didn’t.

Have had a seat fitted using the seat belt for over a year now and no problems at all. ISOFIX is convenient for transferring the base between cars but the belt systems are no less safe then fitted properly.
 
ISOFIX is a must for me. I have seen so many poorly installed non ISOFIX seats so worth the little bit of extra cost/hassle for me. If a retro fit is feasible then this would be the sensible option if you feel the same. Seatbelt restrained seats do work, just susceptible to accidental mis-fitting especially if moved in and out the car frequently.
