W211 / OM642 Aftermarket MAF Intake Pipe

Do you know when the changeover from old to new happened?
Possibly 2015/2016 unsure.if it's the new air filters it'll be new style batwing

It's meant as a last chance for the bat wing when it cracks and bits fall off tbh . The new style batwing is much better ,it's smaller , more rubber, it's hinged at both ends and the air filters are so much easier to change.
I'm assuming the new style doesn't fit the w211 om642 engine?

These silicone T pieces seem to have universal applications and sold in standard sizes. Does anyone know which one to go with for this job?
There's only one AFAIK. Not sure where your looking .

I did this job. It's literally a Generic 60mm Silicone T. You'll need an 80 to 100mm jubilee clip for the bottom that goes onto the intake. I would say whilst it works, it's a lot of hassle trying to heat up and slip the bottom end over the manifold. I imagine it'll be virtually impossible for some given the amount of boiling i had to do and i even had to debur some of the manifold to get it over. A better part would be a Step down from 70 to to 60mm with a 25mm branch but nobody does these. The 60mm end slides over the turbo perfectly. I didn't do this but thinking back now, if you want perfect alignment and to save the hassle out of measuring etc, slip the T over the turbo and shorten until the branch lines up with the hose from the PCV. I think that's the best way. Also bought my part off the shelf in Birmingham (creation autos) because I didn't want to wait and something was telling me this was just a generic T piece. Nearly half the price and no waiting but again, be warned the bottom clip they supplied wasn't big enough, you'll need an 80 to 100mm clip.

Aha! I believe those are what are fitted to the incoming CLS.

I'll confirm, or refute, next week.
Or search on ecp with the reg number for air filters.

I’ve just puckered up and bought one of the silicone hose repairs just in case .
Less chance of a seasoned pro smashing the bat wing on refit. Once you know the angle of dangle it slips on easy.
